Terms of Service

Effective date: April 24, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the skeddi web application, iOS application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by skeddi ("we," "us," or "our"). Please read these Terms carefully before using the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of a school or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

2.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18 years of age, you may use the Service only if your school has authorized its use. Children under 13 may use the Service only if their school has obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and applicable state laws.

2.2 School Authorization

skeddi is intended for use within educational institutions. Access is provided to students, teachers, and administrators at schools that have authorized the use of the Service. We reserve the right to verify school authorization and to restrict access for users whose schools have not authorized use.

2.3 Account Accuracy

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account. You must use the Service under your real identity and in the role (teacher or student) that accurately reflects your position at your school.

3. Description of the Service

skeddi is a scheduling platform for schools that allows teachers to post available help session times ("help slots") and allows students to sign up for those sessions. The Service includes:

  • Creation and management of help slots by teachers
  • Browsing and signing up for available help slots by students
  • Calendar views for scheduling
  • Optional Google Calendar integration for scheduling conflict detection
  • Push notifications for slot updates (optional)
  • Teacher follow functionality for students

4. Your Account

4.1 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must not share your authentication credentials with anyone else. You agree to notify us immediately if you become aware of any unauthorized use of your account.

4.2 Authentication

The Service uses Google OAuth for school account authentication. By using Google Sign-In, you also agree to Google's applicable terms and privacy policies. We do not store your Google password.

4.3 Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the Settings page or by contacting us. When you delete your account, all of your personal data, help slots, sign-ups, follows, notifications, device tokens, and integration credentials will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws. Specifically, you agree not to:

5.1 Prohibited Conduct

  • Impersonate another person, misrepresent your role, or create a false identity
  • Sign up for help slots on behalf of another person without their explicit consent
  • Post help slots for times or locations where you will not actually be available
  • Sign up for help slots you do not intend to attend
  • Harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate other users
  • Submit false, misleading, or inappropriate information
  • Use the Service for any commercial purpose unrelated to school scheduling
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited messages or spam

5.2 Technical Restrictions

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other user accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service or extract data, except as permitted by our robots.txt file
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service
  • Circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or access-control features of the Service
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other malicious code
  • Use the Service in any manner that could damage, overburden, or impair the Service

5.3 Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers who create help slots are responsible for posting accurate information, including correct dates, times, locations, and subjects. Teachers should make reasonable efforts to be available during their posted help slot times.

5.4 Student Responsibilities

Students who sign up for help slots are expected to attend the sessions they sign up for. Repeated sign-ups without attendance may result in account restrictions at the discretion of school administrators.

6. Content

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create or submit through the Service, including help slot details, notes, and profile information ("User Content"). By posting User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute your User Content solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to other authorized users at your school.

6.2 Content Standards

All User Content must be appropriate for an educational setting. You must not post content that is obscene, offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate for a school environment.

6.3 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful, objectionable, or otherwise inappropriate. We are not obligated to monitor User Content, but we may do so at our discretion.

7. Third-Party Integrations

7.1 Google Calendar

The Service offers optional integration with Google Calendar. If you choose to connect your Google Calendar, you authorize us to access your calendar data to check for scheduling conflicts. We access only the date, time, and free/busy status of your calendar events. We do not read or store the titles, descriptions, attendees, or other content of your calendar events. You may disconnect this integration at any time from the Settings page.

7.2 Third-Party Terms

Your use of third-party integrations is subject to the terms and privacy policies of those third parties. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party services. Google Calendar integration is subject to Google API Services User Data Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 Our Rights

The Service, including its design, features, code, logos, trademarks, and all other non-user content, is owned by us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right, title, or interest in the Service except for the limited right to use it as described in these Terms.

8.2 Feedback

If you provide us with feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us an unrestricted, irrevocable, royalty-free license to use that feedback for any purpose, including to improve the Service, without any obligation to you.

9. Termination and Suspension

9.1 By You

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may delete your account as described in Section 4.3.

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Violation of these Terms
  • Conduct that is harmful to other users, us, or third parties
  • Your school revoking authorization for the Service
  • Extended inactivity
  • Requests by law enforcement or government agencies
  • Discontinuation or material modification of the Service

9.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections 6.1, 8, 10, 11, 13, and 14 of these Terms will survive termination.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We do not warrant that the results obtained from the use of the Service will be accurate or reliable.

We are not responsible for the conduct of any users, whether online or offline. We do not guarantee that teachers will be present at their posted help slots or that students will attend sessions they sign up for. The Service is a scheduling tool, and actual attendance and availability depend on the individual users.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL SKEDDI, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE) THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STATUTE, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100.00 USD).

SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN WARRANTIES OR LIABILITY. IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless skeddi and its operators, affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any rights of another party; or (d) your User Content.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the state in which we operate, without regard to conflict of law principles.

13.2 Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of competent jurisdiction.

14. General Provisions

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and skeddi regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.

14.2 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

14.3 Waiver

Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms shall not be deemed a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by us to be effective.

14.4 Assignment

You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.

14.5 Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Service before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the modified Terms.

14.6 Notices

We may provide notices to you through the Service, by email to the address associated with your account, or by other reasonable means. You are responsible for keeping your contact information current.
